Alf – 5 Foot of Fun

Alf (John Connor), is based in Cardiff, South Wales and has performed throughout the UK and Europe over the last 25 years.

After being made redundant as a silk screen printer in 1990, Alf found himself working in the Carousel Juggling Shop, Cardiff, where he’d recently purchased 3 juggling balls and got to know the team. Whilst working in the shop, a friend asked if he’d juggle at his child’s birthday party….and the rest is history as they say!

In 1992, Alf teamed up with a fellow juggler Andy and formed the double act ‘Beyond a Joke’, offering shows and walkabout entertainment. Several years later he went on to form the juggling duo ‘The Hat Company’ and at the age of 36 he finally ran away to join the circus and  toured for four years with ‘Cirque du Pays de Galle’ as both a performer and workshop leader.

In 2004, in a joint venture, Alf and another artist came up with the unique and entertaining walkabout/living statue act, ‘The Gargoyles’, which have proven popular at events nationwide.

During all of this collaborative work, Alf has also performed (and still does) his skills as a solo artist, providing shows and walkabout performance in  juggling,  balloon modelling and close-up magic.

Alf also regularly offers workshops in balloons, magic and circus skills.
